Supplemented horse

by Pete
(Manchester)

I have had a antepost e way bet on the st leger but now I have found that a horse not in the betting has now been supplemented. What are the rules regarding this?

Answer: If a horse is supplemented the prices of the other horses may well change. However if your ante post bet has already been accepted then that price will not change unless it was on the basis of Best Odds Guaranteed.

Unfortunately this is one of the risks of ante post betting.

I dont think this is a fair rule.Say for instance Jack Hobbs would of been supplemented for the race, all the other runners would of atleast doubled in price and most likely every punter wagering on the early market would lose.I dont think you should be able to lose to a horse that you could not back.
I wont be backing antepost in races where horses can be supplemented again unless there is a rule change,I am sure every bookmaker in the land will be rubbing their hands in glee if Simple Verse wins the St Leger. It will be an early antepost wipeout for them.
