No Lasix Races

Stakes Race Winner Fort Larned

I notice lately at Gulfstream Park and other tracks, that in some of the stakes races, all of the horses are not running on Lasix at all.

This not stated in the condition of the race. Why?

Answer: A number of racing organisations, including 1/ST announced that from January 2021 all stakes races at Gulfstream Park would be run lasix-free in line with the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities (IFHA) standards.

No Lasix races makes it more difficult to handicap the race, unless the horse ran previously without Lasix , furthermore no Lasix race for all horses should be stated in there condition book .
