The Triple Trio Pool is the top sport bet that eclipses all others when it comes to prize money - a cool HK$2m.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club runs the pari-mutuel pools. These include a host of other lucrative sport bets. On this page I set out to make winning these bets a whole lot easier and attempt to emulate the results of legendary gambler Bill Benter.

Hong Kong Pools Buster Horse Racing Tips

I can now offer tips for racing in Hong Kong.

The service provides tips for the Triple Trio Pools races at Sha Tin and Happy Valley.

These race meetings are usually held on a Wednesday at Happy Valley and either Saturday or Sunday at Sha Tin.

There will be 1 selection for each race - race 4, race 5, and race 6 for every meeting. Tips are sent out the day before racing.

The selections should be backed to win. You could also back them each way or in forecasts.

You win the Triple Trio Pool if you select 1st, 2nd and 3rd in any order in the 3 Triple Trio races.

Triple Trio pools schedule for the 4th, 5th and 6th races in an 8 race night meeting or 5th, 6th and 7th races in a 9+ race meeting.

I have devised a subtle strategy called the Pools Buster.

It uses the extensive horse racing information that is available on the HKJC website and Racing Post.

The aim is to find the winner and placed horses at the Sha Tin and Happy Valley racecourses.

Top Sport Bet Calculations

Here are the factors that go into rating each horse.

The weight carried by each horse

The success of the jockey

The draw is not considered as over time there is no obvious bias on either racecourse, Sha Tin or Happy Valley

The success of the trainer is a consideration and all trainers have a ranking

The recent form of each horse is factor

The official rating

The use of headgear may play a part

The odds of each horse

The 'Pools Buster' assigns a rating to each horse in a race. The 3 highest rated horses are the selections to be bet for any of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Tote Pools.

There are many ways you can bet these 'Top Sport Bets' apart from going for the big one e.g.

Back first in list or all in each race to win

Back a selection for a place if the price is high enough

Often you will find that at least 2 of the selections in each race will gain a place.

Quinella 1st and 2nd in any order in a race

Tierce 1st , 2nd and 3rd in correct order in a race
