On His Own's horseracing betting odds are just 10/1 for Grand National

Grand National Winner

Horseracing betting odds of 10/1 are available  for Willie Mullins' On His Own.

The Irish champion trainer has already enjoyed a record breaking season and will be hoping that his luck holds up until the John Smith’s Grand National at Aintree on April 6 where he has a few outstanding candidates, including the current ante-post favourite On His Own.

On His Own (horseracing betting odds of 10/1) has been on many people’s short-list for this season’s renewal of the ‘world’s greatest steeplechase’ having appeared to be going as well as anything when coming down at Becher’s Brook on the second circuit of the 2012 race when travelling strongly in third place right on the heels of the leaders.

It’s impossible to say whether or not the Andrea and Graham Wylie-owned gelding would actually have won the Liverpool marathon, but he undoubtedly proved he handles both the track and the still awesome spruce fences and looks the right type to go close this time around if he gets the lucky breaks in the rough ‘n tumble of the big race.

Mullins, whose Prince de Beauchene is another strong fancy and a top-priced 12/1 shot, gave On His Own plenty of time to recover from his exertions at Aintree last year and didn’t bring him back to competitive action until Navan in February, after the publication of the Grand National weights for which he is set to carry 10st 10lbs.

Unfancied at Navan in the two-mile-five furlong Grade 2 Ladbrokes Boyne Hurdle the nine-year-old was sent off a relatively unconsidered 10/1 chance but travelled well throughout the contest, showing little ring-rustiness before leading under Paul Townend approaching the final flight and then staying-on strongly to beat fellow outsider Si C’Etait Vrai by over two lengths.

Clearly in tremendous heart and with his yard firing on all cylinders, On His Own looks a worthy Grand National favourite and one they will all have to reckon with.
