Hi

Susan Corbett's Newsletter:

So a busy week mainly getting horses ready for the big finals weekend at Musselburgh and Kelso. Trying to avoid clashes of horses but that plan is not working! I hate having two horses in the same race as someone will be disappointed before we start! However sometimes it cant be avoided.

Filly foals are doing well while we wait for the final foal to arrive out of Ebony Rose for the Nelson Partnership. Our Yard Sponsor Finnies Heavy Haulage are sponsoring us again this year which is a great help to the yard with money spent on improvements – probably more gallop fibre this year. I did hear at Carlisle yesterday that our recent success was due to our new gallops.....not sure where I have hidden those!

Just Oot the 4 year old belonging to Head Lad Josh had his second trip out in a bumper – not brilliant but hated the ground and needs to fill out so he gets a long break to grow now. All good education tho. Rock Steady Eddie went to Haydock and the ground dried out against us but he ran on to be 6th – all education again. Meanwhile up at Carlisle Charizord ( a 'fill in' horse ) ran in his first hurdle race and jumped really well – just caught out on the hill – he was 4th at 200/1 Sam rode him and had to eat his words after Charizords first bumper! ( I wont say what they were! )

The team were very happy with Easter Gifts from Owners ( no days off tho ) – they have had a hard shift this winter with driving rain. Although how much overweight they will be after chocs, pies and biscuits I do not know!

So will this be the most exciting week ahead so far?

Infinite Honour - Redcar tomorrow over the longer trip of a mile – should suit.....

Dandycan – needs to show he can indeed at Catterick Wednesday

Friday Musselburgh runners

Velasco and Champ Royal – what a needle match planned at Musselburgh in the Go North Finals over 3

Blame Rose – bottom weight in the Mares Final

This is Bob I hope gets in the 2.4 0 – 100

Beaumesnil – maybe the 2 miles...

Saturday Kelso Runners

Beaumesnil – maybe 2.4 final along with Les'Legacy who won this last year.

Johnny Dogs in the 2 miles novice – hopefully the aeroplane he promised to be!

Velasco – just watching the 3 mile open handicap entries to avoid a clash at Musselb...

I feel tired – but very excited just thinking about it! Oh yes and then the following week Aintree and Redcar...with Pinot Rouge and Clear Angel.

I attach a sheet of horses/shares for sale – if anyone would like a little more... or perhaps knows someone who does? May sales are also coming up and I have a couple of people interested in a quality jumper – anyone else please let me know?
