FLEGMATIK 1.15 Kempton 4/1 – The Dan Skelton team hasn’t been at their best lately but FLEGMATIK can give the yard a shot in the arm by taking the TV opener. The Fuisse gelding won on his chase debut during the 2020/21 season and although form following that success was patchy he has shown up well this term following wind surgery and the application of a tongue-tie.

He finished third to Five Star Getaway at this course and distance over Christmas and then ran out an easy victor over the useful Ofalltheginjoints back at this venue latest where he struck by a ready seven lengths. A 7lbs rise for that victory makes life a shade tougher in what looks a competitive contest, but he could have further scope and given his course form he looks the one to side with here.

ÉCLAIR DAINAY 2.53 – Chepstow (15/8) – Gained a third career success under a positive ride at Wetherby in December and backed it up with an excellent second at Lingfield last month. Another bold showing is on the cards.

ICEO 3.00 Kempton 9/2 – ICEO is given another chance having bumped into one at Cheltenham last month, but Paul Nicholls’ charge had been impressive in his own right the time before when scoring over course and distance.

The Coastal Path gelding was a winner in France prior to joining the Ditcheat yard where he made an immediate impact fitted with a first-time hood to beat Rewired here by the thick end of 20 lengths; that bare form might not be particularly strong but he was thrust into a Grade Two contest next time where he ran well enough despite being too keen and perhaps failing to get hime.

The winner that day was impressive, but the selection paid the price of racing too keenly where he had looked to hold every chance between the final two obstacles but finding little when put under pressure. He could be better suited by a return to a sharper and flatter venue and a return to form wouldn’t come as a big surprise.

SEA OF CHARM 4.55 – Lingfield (3/1) – Confirmed that she's a filly going the right way when edged out only late on over C&D last month and looks to have plenty going for her off the same mark.
