CALANDAGAN 3:35 Ascot 7/4 – CALANDAGAN arrives at Ascot looking to become only the fourth horse in history to win the King George twice, and the case for him doing so is hard to pick apart. His Coronation Cup run at Epsom last month can be completely set aside, the ground was soft and he was never going to show his real ability in those conditions.

He then went straight to Saint-Cloud three weeks later and won comfortably on the fast going he loves, a performance right back up to his brilliant best. Good to firm at Ascot is precisely what he wants, and a six-time Group 1 winner returning to the scene of last year's triumph in the form of his life is a very hard thing to oppose.

RETURN OF THE GODS 4.52 York 7/2 – RETURN OF THE GODS has really taken to turf and looked better than ever when winning at Doncaster, showing plenty of determination after hitting the front earlier than ideal. A 4 lb rise looks manageable and, with James Doyle taking over, I expect another bold performance.

SASSY GLORY 5.45 Newcastle 5/2 – SASSY GLORY built on an encouraging effort when digging deep to regain the winning thread over this C&D four weeks ago. I don't see the slight drop in trip causing any problems and she looks to have every chance of going in again.

LIOSA 7.15 Salisbury 4/1 – LIOSA got back on track with a convincing success at Ripon and still looks well treated judged on the fact he's won from a mark 5 lb higher in the past. If reproducing that latest effort, I think he's got an excellent chance of following up.
