Newsletter - Lucky 15 Clean Sweep
January 23, 2023
Hi

This week's newsletter from our trainer Susan Corbett

Its still rather crispy here but due to warm up and get us back on the gallops this week after the freeze ( again! ). The staff do a brilliant job as its fairly mindless trotting in the Arena when the gallops are frozen and its very cold. At least we have the Arena this year to trot around.

So all of our racing was either abandoned or we pulled out as Gowanbuster missed his last prep. Its very frustrating but we are through it again now with races coming thick and fast this week. We are well through breaking the Two year olds – both the Tattersalls three colts bought by Castleview racing, and our home bred ones out of our own winning mares.

We also had the BHA photographer came to take shots of Emma for her portfolio when she goes to York for the judging of the Thoroughbred Industry Awards on 20th February where she has made the top 3 in her category.

No wonder when this week she has ridden away Youngsters, clipped horses, trotted horses, prepared for the racing – which never happened! We are ready for this week tho.

Next week

Catterick Wednesday

Velasco – not noted for his good behaviour goes to Catterick – probably in the Novice. Back over hurdles and now we know his likely behaviour we are taking steps to make sure he puts his effort into the race.

En meme Temp – after his great start back for us being 3rd at Musselburgh he goes in the 2.4 Chase ridden by Sam Coltherd.

Wetherby Thursday

Orlas Abbey and Les legacy both try and get a race although one is at the top and the other at the bottom of the handicap! Which ever one does not get in will head for Sedgefield next Sunday.

Doncaster Friday

0 – 115 3 miles for Imperial Sachins – the course should suit him as should the drop in grade.

Sedgefield Sunday –

Orla or les Legacy…

So a busy week ahead…and thanks to our local paper for the spread they gave us – attached – nice to be noticed.

Kind Regards

Susan

Atomic Angel - star of the show – heading for her next race.
