Newsletter - Susan Corbett's Amazing Week
May 21, 2023
Hi

Hey there! It's Susan Corbett to share with you the ups and downs of my week:

How's your day going? I heard you're interested in some horse racing updates. Let me start by saying that a couple of our horses are still in their learning phase, but we're definitely expecting them to come out victorious soon enough. Maisie Too had a promising start, finishing sixth out of 12 at Newcastle, while Kingston Rock just needs some time off to rest up before he returns to training. Trust me, he's going to be unstoppable once he's back in action!

Unfortunately, Clear Angel missed Thirsk due to an allergy rash, but don't worry, he's on his way to a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Mekbat is waiting for the 30th at Redcar, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him!

On top of that, we've had an inspection from the British Horseracing Authority Inspector, and it went well, except for our lack of a No Smoking sign. In case you're wondering, the inspector checks everything from licensed stables, stalls, and fences to horses, their meds, and wages.

The weather has thankfully improved, and our horses are spending their afternoons out in the fields. The young ones are going full-time while the jumpers will join them at the end of June.

Now, let's talk about some upcoming events! On Tuesday, the 23rd, we have a few horses at Hexham, including Velasco for the Girsonfield Racing Club. I hope he does better than last time! Also participating are Beaumesnil and Konik King, both of whom are making their first appearances. Then, on Saturday, the 28th, we have the last meeting of the season at Kelso, where we'll see Atomic Angel and Johnny Dogs. Both of them are still in their learning phase, but we're excited to see what they can do!

Lastly, our Goffs Spring Sales are coming up. I'm sorry to say that we'll be saying goodbye to Nulli Secundus and Avoid De Master, but we're looking for at least two new horses to replace them. So if you're interested, shoot me a message!

Oh, and don't forget to let me know if you need tickets for Tuesday Evening at Hexham and Redcar. Can't wait to hear from you!
