Hi

Susan Cornett's Newsletter:

First of all the Owners Open Day fast approaches and we have a real live Auctioneer coming to help with the Charity Auction - Jack Walton. Some of the items are listed below plus the framed Jockey breeches from the Dante, 2000 guineas, Cheltenham and the Derby ( many thanks to Les Waugh for those!

We also have a print donated by Equine Artist and friend of the yard, Jay Kirkman ( attached ) and a Middlesborough shirt signed by the 23/24 players ( not framed ) full list next week – but if you want to bid and cant make the Day – please email or text me your bid – all in a good cause for cancer charities and Graham Lee ( Injured Jockeys ). Please RSP this week if you have not already 4th August at 2.

This week we have been breaking horses and had our first mishap with a young Irish filly deciding to errupt! Luckily no one was hurt ( much! ). We have been spoilt as the other three breakers have taken to the job very well.

The last week for the horses to be out at grass apart from the ones that have just gone out for different reasons. Jimlis Island – bought by the GRClub is losing his 'plumpness' and starting to work much better – see his movement in the pic below. We are hoping to get the haylage in this next 2 weeks so, please, no rain dances!

Staff are taking holidays while Jamie continues to make improvements to the yard – its never ending with the circle and the gallops needing an upgrade.

Rogers Dream is on her way to Redcar for her third race to get a handicap mark today – I hope she has improved from her last two races and will be in her grade next race

Next week we have Infinite Honour at Chester in a 1.4 – having won his last start we hope he takes to the track at Chester as that race has turned out to be a good yardstick with both the 2nd and 3rd winning since. Our next jumps runner will be Jimlis Island – probably at Perth on the 17th August.

Kind Regards
