Hi

A great day at the office at Kelso with O' Faolains Glory 2nd under Conor Rabbit while Nathan took the ride on Dotties Promise in only her 2nd start - winning the bumper in a very good time. Hope ( Dotties P ) is one of our home bred horses along with Les's Legacy, Ivans Legacy and Freddie Steady Go.

My idea to breed a few to be able to compete with bigger yards with larger budgets seems to be working....so far! Nathan rode her well from the front as she is very confident and only had our hearts in our mouths in the closing stages. Both horses head for their next races in 3 weeks time.

Yard Competiton - entries close 1st October - have a go its £5.00 for charity! The newsletter is early this week as all the horses are now in and tomorrow looks a busy day! The weather has changed to the horses have come in this week and no longer get the overnight in the field.

They still go out in the field in groups after work but the winter program has begun. That brings us to the very late publication of the Go North Series Races - 40K for each race this year and 2 new races to aim for. As most of you know I plan to have as many runners in this series and start the planning now for next spring.

Our winners in the past have been:-

Ebony Rose - now a brood mare with us won in 2017 Les's Legacy - winner over 2.4 at Kelso in 2023 Velasco 1st and Champ 2nd in 2024 Blame Rose 5th in 2024 33/1 O Faolains Glory 2nd in 2025

You have to run in 3 races in the North including 1 qualifier. Other series we will look at are the Herring Queen for mares - Sunny was 2nd winning 23K and various novice series.

Back on the yard Atomic Angel is still in foal - all mares are tested Sept/October time. Bahrikate is not in foal so she will go off to stud early in the New Year with some of our other brood mares. I went on a First Aid Course it was a good day off! Jamie, Josh and Amanda all have their first aid and we know from experience how important it is.

Dates

Planning this week for the season 30th September Debut for Fairly Fulling at Sedgefield 4th October - Ms Dinner and Auction at Kelso - £50 per ticket - its a very good night!
