He couldn't back it up next time but the yard's stable jockey has chosen him over a stablemate tonight, which speaks volumes, and this Listed contest looks winnable back in calmer surroundings.

BAILEYS KHELSTAR 2.25 Newbury 4/1 – BAILEYS KHELSTAR beat today's market rival when they met here last time and there's no obvious reason that form should be reversed. He's a course-and-distance winner who still looks ahead of the handicapper, chasing a hat-trick in a race that doesn't look overly strong.

STAR HARBOUR 3:15 Ripon 8/1 each way – STAR HARBOUR is an Irish raider who routinely keeps far better company than this and drops down markedly in grade. He's a consistent sort who ran a near-identical race two starts back when only touched off by a subsequent Royal Ascot winner, and it's hard to believe his trainer sent him all this way for nothing.

KINGSTON NARCISSUS 2.45 Market Rasen 11/4 – favourite for the Summer Plate, a Grade 3 handicap chase. He's unbeaten in two runs since joining Dan Skelton's yard, both narrow seconds, and the step up to this longer trip should suit.
