Hi

The week started with Les’s Legacy having his second start over Fences he was no disgrace and much better than his first attempt.

We have been looking for a horse to replace Konik King who is having the life of Riley staying here and doing no work being pampered in his new ownership!

Sam Coltherd found us a horse ( Theatre Light ) in Ireland which was due to come to the posh Cheltenham sale on Friday. We quickly had her vetted ( having being recently gazumpt ) and she set off as planned for Cheltenham but we collected her on the way!

So many thanks to Marj and Mike for the supper and the sofa for a few hours when, we three, all set off to collect the mare from a huge Lorry Park at 3am! I got back to the yard at 7am and we are all very happy with her – she is back in work and we hope she will run in around 3-4 weeks. She is a lovely big mare, winner of a PTP in November and we still have a few shares left. Then we had Beaumesnil and Velasco at Hexham in heavy ground but they needed the run and did not make a bad account. Velascos jumping was very good – they both head for Wetherby on boxing day where they both drop back in trip. It was the end of a career for Gowanbuster after winning 5 races – including being our very first Two year old winner – he has ran 47 times – won 5 and placed to 4th 19 times, winning almost 36K and being rated up to 80.

He will retire as he bled in his race and we will look for a good home for his retirement. Thanks to Les and Viv who entrusted his care to us and we look forward to his nephew Gowaneddie – taking up the mantle……

I hope everyone that came to the Owners Christmas Party enjoyed themselves. The raffle raised over £400.00 for Cancer research thanks to all who bought tickets and brought the brilliant raffle prizes.

And so this week..

18th Dec Musselburgh Champ Royal ridden by Conor Rabbit in the Conditional jockeys race

19th Catterick – Blame Rose in the fillies only – she was knocking at the door last time – ridden by Nathan Moscrop

20th Ayr – Royal Prospect – first time over hurdles – for Shaun Humphries.

23rd Newcastle – Kingston Rock – still learning and dropping back in trip for the Gledsons.

26th Sedgefield Wotyoudunnow Buddy – last chance to shine! 26th Wetherby Velasco and Beaumesnil both back in trip.

28th Ask My Heather – fingers crossed he shows more

29th Kelso Johnny Dogs – in good order and only his second start for us having won the first!

Kind regards
