Hi A busy week with no lows! Monday saw the two brood mares we are putting in foal have their blood tests and scans. Atomic Angel was not impressed with her scan – she will get used to it! Both she and Bahrikate will visit Frontiersman. The first sheep have started to lamb which is keeping Jamie busy as well as riding. Cheltenham took centre stage and our Owners that visited were full of praise for the organisation and I certainly thought ITV did it very well. Very poignant with the two horses winning under the late Michael O' Sullivan winning again – not sure what the odds of that happening were.... There was also 'Doddythegreat' winner under Brian Hughes – for the Doddy Weir foundation ( Doddys Wife Cathy used to ride our Point to Pointers back in the day) taking centre stage and getting me on the points table for the Harbro points competition! Off we went to Hexham for the first race meeting of the year there and Kilmore Rock ran an improving race to be 4/15 under top weight, ridden by Conor Rabbitt. He just needed better ground. Pinot Rouge then went to Doncaster where the result did not tell the whole story 6/6 but back to the same attitude that she had last year – so now we just need her ground. Jack Power rode her well. The last two weeks of March look to be exciting with the Finals weekend looming – sadly we lose Velasco and Champ to issues ( they should be back in April ) so have a depleted team to win prizes. Freddie Steady Go missed his appointments with a foot abcess so we wait for him – probably the beginning of April. Theatre Light, Blame Rose, Dancer and Joker all coming soon. 21st O' Faolians Glory should love the better ground and sharper course at Musselb for the Girsonfield Racing Club – she has 3 entries in the mares Final, 2 mile final and a good old 0 – 100! Sunset Hill has an entry in the mares – that will depend on the entries and the rain! 22nd Les Legacy has an entry in the 2.4 final which he has won before – or he may go to Hexham the following week. Beyond the Verge has our best chance, he in the bumper final – 1st and 2nd in his last two races he has had a break and is now back to form and will go in the Aintree Bumper on the 5 April before kicking off his hurdling career. 25th March – Hexham with the debut of Ivans Legacy in the bumper. Just Oot will go over hurdles for the first time – see him schooling below. This is all for this week! Join our Facebook friends and get our daily tips here.
