FARANDAWAY 7.45 Southwell 5/2 – FARANDAWAY escaped a rise in the weights after his maiden success at Newcastle and that gives him a clear opportunity to strike again. I think he can make full use of that advantage and come out on top.

THE CLONMEL KID 1.30 Newcastle 7/2 – THE CLONMEL KID shaped with promise on his chasing debut at Wetherby and that effort suggests there's more to come. Dropping back in trip looks a positive and I expect him to improve.

AS FAST AS WIND 3.25 Newcastle 9/4 – AS FAST AS WIND has been running to a consistent level for Tristan Davidson and her recent third at Musselburgh was a strong effort. I think she's ready to get off the mark for the yard.

PLEASANT MAN 5.15 Southwell 100/30 – PLEASANT MAN showed he's back to his best when finishing second at Lingfield and that run suggested he's ready to strike. The step back up in trip looks ideal and I expect a big run.

JOHNNYWHO 4.00 Aintree 9/1 each way – JOHNNYWHO has been running consistently well in strong handicap chases and made a winning return from a breathing operation when seeing off Jagwar in the Ultima at Cheltenham last month. The cheekpieces stay on and with previous experience of these fences, I think he holds solid claims.
