A busy week staring with a trip to Stepney Bank Stables, as part of National Racehorse week. They are in the centre of Newcastle basically under the bridges! Horses have been stabled there for over a 100 years - used to tow cargo from the ships on the Tyne. Now they teach all to ride but particularly under privileged and special needs children.

Pinot was the star of the show with Bekah showing off her paces. We showed the children how to saddle a horse for racing and then Pinot was very popular ( as was Bekah ) for photo calls with the children and adults! Tim Reed was also there teaching kids on the simulator.

    Then the week continued with the horses progressing on the gallops to faster work in the next few weeks. Just not quite enough hours in the day to finish our cream barn roof but all the materials have arrived and another 2 weeks should finish it.

Meanwhile the new little shed was completed to provide shelter for the horses when they are being showered and a store for Hay and Straw to save the staff time in the racing barns. Crimson Road and O Faolains Glory both schooled very well with Bekah and young Conor Rabbitt in the saddles.

    Next was the Owners Open Day - huge thanks to all who came along and those who donated prizes for the Auction and the raffle. We had our very own Auctioneer Jack Walton and the top lot was bought by Ron - signed breeches procured by Les W - for £190.00 and a total of £1050 raised in the raffle and the Auction raised £1375.00 together with donations and the Racehorse day raffle we have £3000.00 for our Cancer Charities - our final raffle will be at the Christmas party on Friday 5th December - please let me know if you are coming this week Tickets will be £50.00 including a welcome drink.

    With all the Open Days behind us its onwards to the season ahead..
