Hi

Another good week announced in Susan Corbett's Newsletter: As most of you know I am a great supporter of the Go North Series – Ebony Rose was our first winner when they started the series – its aim is to provide Northern Trainers with a series of races with very good prize money aka 30K prize pots.

You have to qualify through the season – this year it was run in a qualifier and 3 Northern races ( Doncaster and North ). I am fairly obsessive in getting my horses ready for the finals at Musselburgh, Kelso ( Les's Legacy won last year but sadly cancelled due to rain this ) and Carlisle. So off we went to Musselburgh with 5 runners! Borrowed a trailer and off we went.

First up was Blame Rose rudden by her regular Jockey, Nathan Moscrop, and I was very windy about overfacing her in the Mares Final over 2.4 as she was 14lb out of the handicap – ie she should have carried 9 stone 2 rather than the minimum of 10 stone 2lb! However she is improving and ran from the front and was 5th – a tremendous good run and still 1K prize money – well done her ( and Nathan! ) ! Fair to say Champ Royal ( Sam Colthard ) was in front of Velasco in the betting and the Northern Racing Club had every right to think he would win after winning 4/6 since joining us. However Velasco spoilt that plan with a great front running performance from Ed Austin who claims 5lb – Champ chased him home and gave us a great 1- 2 result. Next up was Beaumesnil in the 2 mile Final and he was 3rd – quirky horse who sometimes stops when he thinks he has won!

This is Bob was back in a normal race over a further distance and did very well to be 2nd – in a very tight finish – see below. He is an improving horse and will do better when the ground improves – owned by the Susan Corbett Racing Club.

Phew was that the day? So that leaves us 80/640 in the Trainers Jumps championship with a best ever prize money of 145K and we have 3 weeks to go......Disappointing that Kelso was off – we hope they will put the finals on again.....Hexham is also off hopefully it will stop raining soon!

Jockeys – good to see all three of our regular jumps jockeys in the frame Edward Austin as our claimer of 5lbs, Sam Coltherd and Nathan Moscrop – they all ride out every week here to get to know the horses they are riding in races – I think that is worth a lot – and so it is proven.

Team – have to say that we are a very small team
