Hi

I think I will start with the sad news that we lost Ebony Rose to sepsis this week. She was bred here by Rose ( our Irish Friend ) and went on to win 3 and be placed 4 times for the Nelson Racing Partnership, including winning the first Go North ( then the Northern Lights ) 3 mile hurdle series. She has bred 3 foals – the first we sold as a riding horse as she was small, the 4 year old by Schiaparelli is in training and she has a 2 year old gelding also by Schiaparelli. She gave the group many days of fun when we first started training and we were very proud to have had her here for all of her life.

On the very same day we said goodbye to Ebony Rose – we said hello to Atomic Angels filly foal by Frontiersman – born at 2 pm in the afternoon while I was at Kelso! However the team was on hand, but not needed, as AA was a natural mum – something of a worry when she was a madam as a racehorse! ' April' is the filly's stable name and she is very advanced for her age – up and suckling within 2 hours ( sometimes its many more ! ).

And so to racing.. very happy with the two runs for the 'newbys' on the yard. Valette ran at Newcastle to be 5th in her first run for us for the Otterburn Racing Club while Ebelysees made a mistake but then galloped to the line – both will come on tons for that run and I look forward to their next races later in the month. We did not run Sunset Hill at Kelso due to drying, therefore, quick ground which Nathan ( and I ) felt unsuitable – so we wait for softer ground. Knockeranna Rose ( Joker ) made a great effort at Carlisle ridden by Conor to be 3rd – again the ground had dried out and we think a bit softer will suit him in the future.

As most yards are winding down for the end of the season we seem to be gearing up with quite a few horses wanting better ground. We have also got two new horses in training for 'ownaracehorse.co.uk'

'We have been syndicating horses since 2004 – our first winner being First Rhapsody at Newcastle in June 2005. We pride ourselves on giving our members the opportunity to go racing, visit the stables and feel part of their horse's journey. We offer limited size syndicates and prizemoney for your percentage share. Members are kept updated with regular reports, pictures and video of their horses.

We can't do this without the support of our trainers and choosing the right trainer is essential to providing our service. We are delighted that Susan has agreed to train our northern based National Hunt horses and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship. After a few years without any jumpers, it is a venture we are thoroughly looking forward to.'

They have bought shares in Ebchester ( unraced but due out soon ) and Cuillin Ridge ( 1st and 2nd last two starts ) please contact me or Peter@ownaracehorse.co.uk
