The locals have a strong prospect in Incentivise at the head of the market 7/4, having won three Grade 1's including the 12f Caulfield Cup.

The Melbourne Cup is a stamina stretching 2m and it remains to be seen whether the horse will see out the distance.

Spanish Mission is a proven stayer having just been beaten a head by Stradivarius at York recently and is 2nd in the market at 17/2.

However it may be worth putting a few bob each way on Selino 50/1, who caused a 25/1 shock earlier this year by winning the Schweppes Sydney Cup (Group 1 Handicap) (3yo+) (Turf) (3yo+) 2m Good at Randwick (AUS)
