Racing Index  offers a similar service to Tipping League but include a comparison basis known as VBP (Variable Bet Profit), to rank the tipsters. This performance comparison takes into account varying numbers of selections, with different staking levels and achieving different success rates.

Betfair is the most successful of the new betting exchanges where backers bets are matched by layers from the general public. This has the advantage of removing the usual bookmakers percentage on any event. Instead there is a commission due to Betfair of generally 5% of any winnings.
