Hi

Ever thought about part ownership of a racehorse? Read Susan Corbett's newsletter and maybe give her a call?

Great start to the season with TWO wins at Hexham – 'two out of three aint bad' as the song goes ( Meatloaf ). Buddy was first up in a Seller which was pretty hot – the fav was about 39 lbs better than we were on paper.

However Buddy, who has had his issues, the clue is in the name - Wotyoudunnow Buddy. He has had the very patient Owners:- Chris and Gary. Nathan rode him very well and even when he was headed he battled back to win the race! It was a seller so he was auctioned but who was going to bid with a name like that? Although I know Gary, Chris and myself were relieved when there was no bid. He will be out again soon.

Next up Johnny Dogs did disappoint but he hated the ground and we go for a flat track next. Atomic Angel was given a very positive ride by Edward ( even if that was not the plan! ) however it worked and no one saw her – although she was nearly beaten by a sneaky Better Be Definite but again she battled on to win.

Personaly I think she is such a star we should start a fan club for her. So bouncing into the new season with an excellent start.

A new arrival in the shape of a colt ( Clyde ) by Sciparelli out of our home bred Ebony Rose – Owned by the Nelson Racing Club - she won one of the first Northern series races at Carlisle before becoming one of our foundation stock mares – we have 3 at the moment but may be joined by 'Jokers' dam:- Toarmandowithlove, who is presently meeting Vendangeur – sire of our very own Pinot Rouge.

I tried to buy Kilmore Rock a 5 year old by Shirocco in December, he was on an online sale but we did not meet the reserve. However he popped up again being 2nd in a Corbridge Point to Point two weeks ago – Joe Wright offered him to Son & Assistant Trainer Jamie and we hot foot off to see him – love at first sight! So we have a new partnership of four like minded people getting together and have bought him – welcome new boys Andy and Mike and don't ever go Ron and Sheila!

Some horses are now being turned out for the summer but most will keep going for a while longer while the Flat ones start to limber up. The form of Infinite Honour was franked as the winner when he was 3rd at Wetherby won at Hamilton by 4 lengths yesterday. Kaidu has an issue and is stopping very suddenly in his races so we are investigating....

So this week we have:-

Kelso Wednesday Novice 2.4 for Pinot Rouge – maybe short for her and ground not soft but she needs the education and we will take our chance on an improving horse for Stu and Steve ridden by Edward Austin

Clear Angel entries at Chester, Nottingham and Haydock – looking at entries to decide.

Les's Legacy – will go to Hexham on the 11th for the Tweed Valley Racing Club
